    • Trials

Trials form the staple of the All Wheel Drive Club calendar with an event taking place somewhere in the country almost every weekend.

There are different trials classes to suit every type of 4x4 vehicle each running over terrain suitable for that particular class of vehicle whether it be Standard or highly Modified.

If you want to put your driving skills and your 4x4 to the test then Trials will provide the means to do it. Drivers from the age of 13 are catered for in Tyro Trials which often run alongside the other classes over more appropriate terrain.

    • Drive Rounds

Driverounds are a great place to start if you’re new to offroading and just wanting to start to dip your toe in the mud! That said, these popular events also attract more experienced drivers who enjoy the often large sites for exploring. We lay out a straightforward, well-signed route which should suit a novice in a ‘softroader’ like a Freelander, a RAV4 or similar. It aims to allow a driver to get used to the handling of their car without damaging it and without proving to be too nerve-wracking. We also have plenty of friendly marshals who are more than happy to have a chat about offroad driving techniques and ensure that drivers make the most of their day out; we recognise that we all had to start somewhere!

    • Driven to the Edge

Welcome to the next AWDC Driven to the Edge event. This is an endurance event based on a point to point format that combines cross country tracks and special winch challenge sections. We hope you will enjoy the format.

Based at Walter’s Arena in South Wales the event will consist of a number of timed laps. Each lap will be approximately 8 miles long and will contain a number of special challenge sections linked by a defined route along cross-country tracks. The overall mileage will be in the region of 60 miles.

It is not an extreme challenge event nor is it about flat-out top speed. It will challenge your driving skills both in the special challenge sections and along the tracks. Although Walter’s Arena will be familiar to many we have tried to use tracks that have not been used recently. We are also looking at other sites for future events.

We have designed Driven to the Edge for all specification of vehicles but in particular we hope that the event will appeal to the clubman competitor who wants to try some a little different. Most importantly we hope that you will have fun and enjoy the events.

Each vehicle must complete a prescribed number of runs over the course during the day with the fastest cumulative time revealing the winner.

All vehicles must comply with the Technical Regulations with safety features such as roll cages, harnesses and crash helmets mandatory.
