Trials Classes

AWDC Trials Classes for 2018

The classes have been changed in 2018 to better reflect the majority of vehicles currently competing under with the AWDC.

‘Standard’ classes cater for those wishing to drive a largely unmodified vehicle and sections will be set out to be non-damaging. These vehicles don’t require a roll cage, but suitable recovery points should be available.

‘Modified’ classes are for more specialised vehicles and the class separations allow for all degrees of modifications. The larger the mod, the higher the class. Where possible, sections will always be set out as non-damaging, but due to the nature of the more difficult section, this can’t always be guaranteed. Roll cages, fire extinguishers and harnesses must be fitted to all modified vehicles.

‘Open’ class is a non-competitive class and will allow any vehicle to drive ‘standard’ sections. This is to allow anyone turning up to at least have a drive for the day, even if their car is not up to modified safety requirements (unless there is a serious safety concern). For full details, see below.
