Basic spec lengthened chassis with wider Jap spec axles, rear has L.S.D .Rancho springs and shockers. Engine 1300 Suzuki swift GTI twin cam and 5 speed gearbox. Good seats and harnesses. Vehicle complete with spares, but requires TLC (rewire and plumbing needs sorting) Road registered on SORN and French log book. Dry stored for many years. Please contact me for more details. The buggy was bought recently from its previous owner, who had built it to its current state from a rolling space frame. It has never been completed and has always been garaged. It is now offered for sale unfortunately due to a serious knee injury which prevents me from finishing the project.
There is pretty much everything included that is needed to complete the buggy. It comes with the rangerover log book and number plates from the donor vehicle. It is currently on SORN.
The wheelbase is 88”. The chassis and roll cage are fully painted and the body panels are fitted. This is a genuine Bowler panel set with fibreglass inner wings, front valance, windscreen frame and bonnet. To complete the body work all that is needed is to fit the body cappings and wheel spats (included) and a few more rivets here and there.
I also have all the paint, both undercoat and cellulose top coat in British racing green. The engine and gear box are fitted. This is a 3.5 SD1 V8 and 4 speed gear box, from the donor rangie. The gearbox and clutch are in excellent order. The engine ran fine and pulled well in the donor rangerover but ha been standing now for over 8 years so may need a little TLC.
The engine is mounted on Tomcat captive mounts. The rad is from a 3.9 rangie and is mounted and the cooling system fully plumbed in. A modified heater from a mini is fitted as it was intended to used on the road.
The exhaust consist of a pair of large bore tubular manifolds feeding into a 3” central pipe, then split again into two 2.25 inch Janspeed silencers, exiting above the rear cross member in the back panel. This is all fitted and complete. It was built with the intention of fitting 4.6l engine at a later date.
The steering column and power steering box are all fitted.
The 'interior' is fitted with a 90 dash and vinyl 5 point seats on adjustable bottom rails. The TRS 3”5 point harnesses are also included.
A battery box is fitted into the back body along with a modified 90 fuel tank. A facet fuel pump is included but not fitted. Most of the fuel lines are fitted with just the pump and tank connections left to do.
The pedal box is from a rangie and has been modified to tke a 90 brake pedal and servo. The front brake discs are brand new vented rangerover units. The discs on the back are also brand new but one of the rear callipers is ceased, so a pair of replacement callipers are included. The brakes need plumbing in.
The clutch circuit has been plumbed in.
Both front and rear props have been shortened but need welding and balancing before fitting.
The springs are brand new and from Bowler. It is fitted with brand new 12” travel rose jointed Bilstein shocks.
There are 5 wheels which are LWB rims fitted with Michelin 750 x 16 XCLs. These are in excellent condition and have around 90% tread left on them.
NAS spec lights are fitted all round.
Included with the buggy are a number of sundry items such as door catches, windscreen wiper motor and wheelboxes for 3 wipers, cut-off switch and emergency pull cables, harness eye bolts, 100ms rolls of 2.5mm wire etc that you would otherwise need to source. Also included are 2 spare front swivels and half shafts and 2 rear half shafts.
The only things that I think you will need to source are handbrake assembly, battery, some electrical connectors, a bumper, door and rear view mirrors and a windscreen.
