Marshalling at Safaris

To volunteer as a marshal is one of the most helpful activities you can do that helps the club to run a Comp Safari. The experience you gain can be used across all cross-country club events, and you will always be welcome and appreciated.

The aim of the Club is to provide a safe and fun event for everybody attending, and one of the principal members of the organising team is the Marshal, who is needed primarily to ensure the safety of themselves, the competitors, and spectators, then to ensure the event is run as smoothly as possible.

All Marshals are volunteers, and they help the AWDC continue to be one of the best off-road clubs in the country, and it is a very good way of getting up close to the action where in some cases spectators may not be permitted. There will be some snacks provided and possibly a prize draw at the end of the event, and occasionally other rewards as well.

Getting Started:

You don’t need to be a member of a club to volunteer as a member, but associate membership of the AWDC will get you early access to the events and other information. If you are a new marshal and you have chosen you event to attend, the minimum requirement is to sign on the event using our digital process on this website: Officials Sign On

When you receive your e-mail acknowledgement, let us know it is your first time by sending a mail to Secretary@awdc.co.uk and we will ensure you are helped on the day.
